Although we have all heard this song many times, and many places, I would suggest listening very closely to the timing of the chords, and the vocal lines. It just only the first line, "Then sings my soul" repeated four times. Not to mention it is sang differently both times it's played. Chord Progression: Although you could leave out all of the D's from the verses, I would suggest not. Ascend he Hill attempts to make this original by changing the timing between chords, as well as the chords themselves. The more you make it easier, the more you simply allow it to be more like the original. The trickiest part about this progression is the short D's.
